Craft From The Past – Yellow Lace Dress

Following this week's theme of scallops and lace, I thought I'd show you this yellow lace dress that I mentioned back in 2007 but somehow never showed completed. I bought the yellow lace fabric at a thrift store and used the pattern Simplicity 5187 (now out print, available here on Ebay).

For this dress I used an underlining and did french seams. I covered some of the seams in a beige tape that can kind of be seen through the dress. The seams in general are a little see through on this which is frustrating. I don't know what a good solution is to this. Maybe a different seaming technique of different lining fabric. I've only worn it once (and with a slip of course) because of the see through seam issue.
